It seems like everyone in our nation is struggling right now, but none more than the brave young men and women who serve in our military. Just back from Iraq or Afghanistan, these courageous Long Islanders now face real challenges including missing limbs, brain injuries and psychological trauma that needs immediate attention.
Veterans Rock is committed to raise money to provide specific and immediate assistance to our Long Island veterans. And we’re doing this all simply by asking you to donate $5.
The average salary for military personnel is $17,000 and they are often asked to apply for food stamps upon returning home. Is this how we as Americans, and more specifically Long Islanders, want to treat those who provide a blanket of safety and security for us every day? Let’s set an example for communities around the country who will witness our tremendous effort and hopefully do the same in cities and towns around the nation.
